Karachi: Despite facing several challenges on the domestic front, the present democratically elected government has been committed to provide ample business opportunities in the country for attracting prospective local and foreign investors.
These views were expressed by Federal Minister for Petroleum & Natural Resources Naveed Qamar while speaking as the Chief Guest at ‘the 1st Global CEO Excellence Awards-2010’ and Innovative Leadership Summit-2010 organized by Global Media Links in collaboration with Better Pakistan Forum here at a local hotel in which Chairmen and MDs & CEOs of 22 leading companies were conferred 1st Global CEO Excellence Awards-2010.
The Federal Petroleum Minister in his speech assured leaders of business and corporate sectors that blessings and dividends of the current democratic dispensation in the country, would soon be extended to them.
“If we are successful in providing business opportunities in the country inducing confidence of both local and foreign businessmen, then it would surely boost international investment in Pakistan,” Qamar said.
He said: “Here at the Ministry of Petroleum, we have been striving hard to adopt an integrated approach for promoting exploration and fast track development of oil, gas and mineral resources”.
About the CEO Excellence Awards, the Federal Minister said the organizers of the award ceremony, surely deserve praise and appreciation for successfully gathering some top-notch professionals from corporate, business, industry, and philanthropy sectors on a single platform. “I’m confident that 1st Global CEO Excellence Awards 2010, in the coming years, would provide a platform for assembling in greater numbers, major names of corporate, business, industry, and service sectors”. He added: “Such events would act as a bridge between government and business and industrial sectors whose support is vital for achieving the dream of a better Pakistan”.
A distinctive feature of Award ceremony was the Innovative Leadership Summit. Leaders of 16 eminent organizations addressed the summit and shared their innovative ideas about leadership with the participants. The forum was an interactive session with lively participation of the audience.
According to the CEO Global Media Links (GML), Mr. Mussadiq Aziz, the awards’ programme was the first of its kind in Pakistan, where, nominees were selected through an internationally recognized mechanism and were adjudged according to the globally accepted standards. He said the 1st Global CEO Awards recognize successful government and business sectors’ leaders whose visions, directions and actions had become success role models for the upcoming generations.
The awards discovered and rewarded leadership excellence by distinguished individuals and organizations in Pakistan. The awards were conferred upon CEOs and high-level managers, who demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and commitment to advancing their organizations’ strategic goals, said Mr. Aziz.
